Advanced Sleep Phase Syndrome (ASPS) is a kind of sleep disorder, while which the main episode of sleep is advanced in relation to the desired clock time, which results in such symptoms, as: an early sleep onset, awakening earlier then desired, compelling evening  the conventional bedtime and the tendency is to wake up too early. To the main complaint the inability to stay awake during the evening hours or early morning awakening insomnia, or both of them may be referred.

Altitude Insomnia
is the kind of insomnia, which a person suffers from when he or she goes to higher altitudes. As a rule such insomnia is accompanied by fatigue, headaches, loss of appetite, etc.

Antihistamines
is the name of drugs type, which is aimed on combating the influence of histamine. (Histamine is a kind of a chemical, which is released by some certain cells of the organism). As a rule these medicines are applied with the aim of the nausea and / or sickness reduction. To possible side effects drowsiness may be referred, however, this is the very drowsiness, which is necessary to be achieved, when these drugs are applied in insomnia treatment.

Arousal
is an awakening from sleep. However, it may also refer to a change from a so – called “deeper” stage of non – REM sleep to somewhat “lighter” stage.

Arousal Disorder
is one of the parasomnia disorders, which is presumed to occur because of some abnormal arousal function. To classical arousal disorders confusional arousals, sleepwalking, and sleep terrors may be referred.

Arousal Threshold
is a parameter for the measuring how easily a sleeping person may be awakened.
