T-Z

Thalamus is the term, which is applied to describe the part of the brain that consists of two large ovoid structures at the base of the cerebrum. It acts as the vitally important relay stateion between the sensory nerves and the cerebral cortex.

Tolerance in reference to a drug, it describes the condition, when some certain medicine becomes no longer effective, and the more time it is used, the less effective it becomes.

Transient Insomnia
is an insomnia, which usually does not last longer than one month (4 weeks). Such factors as being in a stressful and / or anxiety – producing events / conditions, some certain conditions of health, psychiatric illness, any kind of hormonal fluctuations, jet tag, environmental disturbances, etc may become the possible reason of chronic insomnia.

Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP)
is the name of the surgical intrusion, which is conducted on the throat with the aim of treating Snoring and Sleep Apnea. Zeitgebers
is translated like the “time givers” from German. These are any external cues, such as familiar morning sounds and / or noises, sunlight, meals, etc., which influence the Circadian Cycle.

Zolpidem
(brand mane Ambien) is the name of a sedative hypnotic drug, which influences the central nervous system’s functioning. It is usually applied as a sleep medicine.
